So we have some serious LEGO love going on in this house and we love getting new ideas for things to do with them. That is why I was ecstatic to find some of my blogging sisters created the book The Unofficial Guide to Learning With LEGO® 100+ Inspiring Ideas and the kids and I were ecstatic about reviewing it for you. You can grab it on your Kindle or in paperback form if you prefer.
The book contains tons of beautiful images and ideas for using LEGO® bricks, things like math, science, art, learning colors, counting, and even for reading! I am not such a big fan of buying the sets as my kids tend to put them together once, tear them apart, and then they are just lost in the LEGO® carpet that lines the floors. I much prefer just the boxes with the basic bricks, I just love the open endedness of them. This book takes that to another level! We found a lot of projects to do this summer and many we will be using throughout our homeschool year but we focused on one to give you a peek into the book.
Since all I have to do is mention science to Ms. Sassy Pants I knew that combining our favorite bricks and a science project would be a hit. We created this awesome volcano, this is just one of the 100+ ideas in the book. It was super fun with easy to follow instructions.
And here is a gratuitous shot of my cute little LEGO scientist ready to get started, like I said…science is serious business for her!
