Ms. Sassy Pants up till now has had no formal school just some slightly structured play while I worked with her big brother on his lessons and she has begged for her own curriculum. They are 3 years apart in age and I have had a hard time balancing homeschooling him, cleaning house, working full-time from home, among other mom duties the thought of putting together a structured curriculum was a bit daunting to say the least. Then a great blogger friend of mine told me about Mother Goose Time. So I checked out the site and was instantly impressed with the adorable graphics, colors, and everything that was included in your monthly kit, even more so when I actually opened our first box- I am not sure who squealed louder me or my 4 year old! I am going to be sharing our experiences with the program often but first I wanted to give you an overview of what comes in our monthly box.
She was super excited to have her own school materials and we had fun hanging the materials that came in the welcome packet (included with your first box) in our schoolroom amidst brothers things for her daily circle time- Investigation station signs that identify areas like blocks, math, writing, technology… A map of the world poster, ASL poster, number line, weather station, letter and sight word baskets.
Now onto the monthly items we receieved…
First of all, each month is themed and all activities go along with the theme. I am big on unit studies for children, I think that is the best way to learn, by diving into and fully submerging yourself in one main theme. We love digging in the dirt so we could not have been more happy to find out our May theme was Growing Gardens! Everything from the monthly calender to manipulatives and Aside from how cute everything was, what drew me to Mother Goose Time was that each day was put together for you in a little baggies with a topic sheet in the front for each day and pretty much all supplies needed- you will receive if you need markers or other items it is noted not only in the Teacher Guide but also on a sheet that lists all supplies for the month so you can pull everything together at once in an hour or less and be done with it. This is perfect for me since I struggle with balancing both kids in different age brackets.
I received everything I needed to plan and implement this easy and fun program for the whole month in the box. She received her own items like-child discovery tools, nametags, journals, games, I can read books and more. I wrote Ms. Sassy’s name in highlighter on her nametag and had her trace it in pencil. HERE is a full list of what is included.
We found 20 premade packets in our box and even a bonus one with a sweet Mother’s Day Craft and game.
Kid’s a little younger than Pre K aged? No problem they offer a toddler supplement to make it applicable to them. Already begining to read and write? Add on More Math and More Literacy to enhance the learning. We also opted to add on the Music and dance program Dance N’ Beats , and the Christian Program; Experience God- more on these later! Whether your run a daycare with 5o preschool aged children, a small home daycare with half a dozen, or have just one of your own at home Mother Goose Time is perfect for you. With very little setup and planning time you can focus on what’s important- the kids.
Did I Mention even my 7 year old loves the activities and projects?
While I received free product in exchange for my review of this product all opinions are my own.
